More Pictures and Latest Update

Here are some more pictures of Kent. They have removed his neck brace. The doctors have taken some of the tubes and lines out and now he is only on the respirator, pain killers and sedatives.

His jaw surgery is tomorrow. We asked tonight and he still has all of his teeth! He is still considered in critical condition but is stable. He is still leaking a little bit of cerberal fluid but they aren't overly concerned about it. They won't look at it tomorrow but if he is still leaking next week they will fix it by going in through his nose.

Here is a picture with Scottie his other nurse. They have started putting him in a chair bed. This will help put some pressure on his joints. Dad and Kent sat and watched TV today. Probably some redneck show like "Trick My Truck" or "Ice Road Truckers".

Boone, his other nurse commented to Dad today that it is amazing how well all of Kent's organs are working even though they have him on tons of drugs. He pointed out that part of the reason that Kent is doing so well is the fact that he lives a clean life and takes care of his body. Those of use who aren't so good about excersing would be in a lot worst shape. If you're going to participate in extreme sports like these boys, your body needs to be in good, clean shape so you can heal properly.

They lowered the amount of food they were giving him through his feeding tube. For some reason they thought he might get fat. I'll believe it when I see it.

The last thing that we wanted to comment on was how grateful we are to all of the boys that were with Kent and Jake at the time of the accident. They really held it together through the entire ordeal. It was so great that they kept my parents updated as they rushed to the hospital from Montana. Ben and I were so happy to see them when we walked into the waiting room Monday night. We were the first family members to arrive and the boys had already coordinated a blessing for Kent. It was so great to have them there to fill us in on the circumstances surrounding the accident and Kent's condition. Dad says that they were strong in situations where he has seen grown men break down . Casey, Jordan, Jason, Bryce and Ron you guys are the best!!!
